included teaching, preparing a book proposal, writing, and studying
science, law, and environmental journalism.

1988 – 1998: EDITOR, JOURNALIST, ART DIRECTOR, PHOTOGRAPHER Held
wide range of responsibilities at several newspapers, journals, and
radio stations throughout the West, particularly Arizona. Positions
included: KNAU Radio, Flagstaff: Created features for regional
Public Radio station that were broadcast nationally on American Public
Radio, Pacifica Radio, and Coyote Radio Network. Northern Arizona
Environmental News: Editor and Art Director for publication of the
group Citizens for Environmental Responsibility. Navajo-Hopi Observer: Reporter and Acting Editor. Earned 1994 Bojack Humanitarian Award for “Reporter of the Year.”

included international indigenous researchers as well as Japanese,
